History:
Around 1914 as Bakelite was developing, the first early plastic whistles were made. These opened up new possibilities for whistle makers with colours and designs that had not previously been considered. In the 1920's Hudson's catalogue increased to over 300 different models, many of them plastic. In 1949, the world's first life-saving whistle, was developed by Hudson and patented.
